Oh the toilets should be condemned as a health hazard. Honestly dreadful, one of worst I've come across in county ground . Look its positive. It's a start. I do think seating the terraced area has to be done as the next phase. But this is a positive start. And the royal way ? Any further info on that. ?

Why does seating the terraced areas need to be done at all? Ppl, i being one of them, enjoy watching the games standing. if you are so pushed on seating put it behind one of the goals. Could work be done on it to make but better, but I firmly believe that the current terraced area should remain a terrace. 5k is ample seating, how often would it be filled? reality is once/twice a year. juicy (Meath) - Posts: 402 - 14/07/2023 11:58:13 2494310 Link 3 |
I'd be a standing man myself but there is a much greater demand for seating in recent years, look 5000 seats covered is a vast improvement on what we have and the standard of facility and comfort will be fantastic in comparison to what we have now, I was a little disappointed to hear Noel Dempsey say on LMFM that the budget may not extend to actually concreting the goal ends but that they would be reducing the slope on both and installing barriers as a start, it would be a pity if the tender price couldn't include this work as its well past time that banking was replaced in PT

Any further progress on the PT redevelopment. Is it going ahead in 2024?

The latest is that an additional €2.3 million was secured in the large scale infrastructure grants. The redevelopment is due to start in Q4 of 2024 which I would imagine will be after the club finals. I won't believe the project is starting until there is a digger in the ground though as before the additional funding announcement redevelopment was on track to start after the league next year. It certainly is long overdue and the 5k seating along with new dressing rooms and crucially floodlights will be a massive improvement

Seems to be going on for a very very long time now. I fully appreciate that these are massive projects but it does seem to be going on for a very long time. Initially word was that work was to start after the league in 2024. Now it appears to be Q4 when work will start. Meath do not need a 20,000 capacity stadium. A ground with a capacity of 12,000 is more than enough, with basic modern facilities.

I'd be fairly optimistic that we'll go ahead as proposed. A much more sensible layout incorporating the present terrace. Good luck to all involved. MillerX (Meath) - Posts: 1071 - 11/12/2023 12:31:56 2516344 Link 0 |
I disagree, 20k is perfect as I have no doubt PT will be used as a neutral venue for many games in the years ahead as championship formats evolve and bring significant economic benefits to Navan and Meath. My hope is that when work starts they also freshen up the existing terrace by revamping the toilet blocks and new barriers etc, basically cosmetic in nature but matters that H&S take into account with capacities. If enough money is available next year I'd terrace the hospital end and just leave the town end as is instead of trying to regrade both into suitable banking, leave the town end as a separate project, a new stand, freshened up northern terrace, a terraced hospital end and lights would have us light years from where we are now

Any news on start date, the reason the game is in croke park is because work was soppose to start straight after last league game,a big loss of revenue to both meath gaa and navan itself royal1967 (Meath) - Posts: 277 - 11/04/2024 19:20:27 2537401 Link 0 |
No true. Game is in croke park at request of meath management. Works not due to commence until after home game in AI group series played. Jinxie (Meath) - Posts: 6347 - 11/04/2024 20:03:09 2537409 Link 0 |

I thought the report said works were to commence in Q3 so that would suggest Autumn. Royalio11 (Meath) - Posts: 763 - 25/05/2024 19:53:13 2547056 Link 0 |
At least Louth are moving forward on redevelopment and competitiveness. What's the new date for PT.
