Did not realise EM is stepping aside, thought it was only 1/2 of backroom team. Not sure what he would bring to mens team, no doubt he is one of the best at what he does, however, massive difference between the two.

Dessie Farrell getting two more years with Dublin is surprising and must surely be a boost to o Rourkes ambition of beating dublin during his tenure, all the rumours had dessie being shown the door but again as been the rumours the Dublin county board dont see any viable or qualified candidate within the county as worthy for the job. Harsh and uncalled for to be honest. If the team had failed miserably over the last few years would you be blaming him or his coaching staff??

Thats what a good manager does, gets the right backroom team together, not about any one person, all about the team. Saw him interviewed several times comes across as a very committed, passionate and honest man, what more do you want?

What did he say? Seems to get a bit muddled when giving interview, however cannot argue with results from last few years.

Totally agree, the man has managed a meath team to two all Ireland's and all the players do be full of praise for him, what more do we want.

Basically he said when asked did meath winning the minor give the ladies team a lift he said no, that they are just still kids and they got there inspiration from themselves especially the way they bet cork in the semi final, that is all he said so it's hard to believe how people could be offended by that, i suppose we need to remind ourselves that we live in a era where people are easily offended even over the slightest little thing such as this, I think the word to describe them is snowflakes.

In fairness to EM not a whole lot in what he said, he was bigging ladies sport in general and Meath ladies in particular. Doubt if many took offence, even in these times. No worse that Gerry Mac wanting to burn the hurls. Give the man a break, gave us many good days which were badly needed.

Holy God. What is wrong with that ? And even if snowflakes like Brian were offended his comments are hardly grounds for a severe reprimand. And sure who would reprimand him? Meath LGFA? Pull yourself together Brian.

I just watched the clip. Crazy carry on that anyone would be bothered by those comments. The world we live in now I suppose.

He (Eamon Murray) may have done some wonderful work to get Meath Ladies football back where it is and he should rightly be commended for what he has achieved, but I do think he undermined the opportunity of the Meath Minor girls of winning the Leinster Championship as three days before their Leinster Final he had the three best Minor Girls take part in 5 hour session (training & some analysis) with the Senior panel. It showed on the 2 girls who played outfield, they looked tired and ended up been replaced. These girls were only brought into the Senior panel to help with training and in house games. If there was cooperation between the Ladies Senior and Minor management, those three girls would have been excused from that long training session. In the absence of cooperation and in the interest of player welfare, there should be a rule in Inter County Ladies GAA, that no juvenile girl joins a Senior County panel until that County is out of the Inter County Minor Championship.

Blackspot09, thanks for calling me a snowflake ;) But i have a lot thicker skin than that. I'm not sure where those post originated from yesterday as i certainly didn't post them. I was in work and only noticed them last night to my shock and surprise. I think the admins are removing/ clearing them. I have nothing but admiration for what Eamonn and his backroom team and those ladies have done for the last several years, not just the two all ireland s but repeatedly getting off the floor after multiple all ireland intermediate losses. They've worked their asses off and deserve nothing but respect

Ah Come on. I cant believe this tripe. We finally have the mens team giving out some positive news and as theres nothing more to complain about on that front currently, we now want to start digging at the only man in the county to give us some real success over the past few years. Have yeas little to be at. the mans is as honest as it gets. Do yeas think pulling three young ones up to experience what an all Ireland caliber team setup is like, is less important than a mickey mouse minor championship then your deluded. Those girls probably learned more in that single session than they have ever before and will stand to them moving on to senior. If they cant get their recovery right over three days after a training session than they need to look at that as an issue personally. Lets be clear about something. The only aim in the county should be to the benefit of the Senior teams, and if that means a few underage teams need to give up some of the resources then so be it. No worries Brian. To be honest from seeing the posts you put up here regularly I was surprised by that one yesterday as it did seem a bit out of character so that makes more sense.
