Good draw for Arva there . I expect and Arva v Killinkere final with Arva to get over the line this year. Reformation (Cavan) - Posts: 356 - 07/09/2016 10:57:56 1911158 Link 0 |

is there no relegation this year? sammaguire1 (Cavan) - Posts: 279 - 07/09/2016 12:42:48 1911232 Link 0 |
Laragh will beat Killinkere & Shercock / Redhills could beat Arva. Arva are relying on Bouchier too much! Dara10 (Cavan) - Posts: 404 - 07/09/2016 14:13:21 1911307 Link 0 |
From what i heard there are going to be 3 teams relegated this year! The bottom 6 that did not qualify (belturbet, drumalee, drung, drumgoon, tport and drumlane) will play one match and each loser goes down. This seems very harsh and unfair though so i can't imagine it's true ? 5seniormedals (Cavan) - Posts: 58 - 07/09/2016 14:29:28 1911319 Link 0 |
I suppose shercock are relying on clarke too much aswell then ? Arva have alot of good forwards besides bouchier

Ok thanks for clarification! I just think its harsh because none of these teams have really been poor bar one or two games, they have all had close matches with teams that qualified! also its unfair on teams in the junior championship because the 3 teams that will go down will be strong favourites for junior next year! That's if all goes ahead

Need more teams in junior. Our championship is top heavy. It should also improve chances for clubs in Ulster so it's in the interests of Cavan football. Too much self interest. Clubs knew at the start there were three going down. All of a sudden those in danger are angry about it. This always happens and change rarely happens.

Typical Co Board not getting clearance from Ulster Council. The new championship structures will be out the window now and they are making league structures worse going away from 4 divisions of 10 back to 3 divisions? Can anyone explain the reasoning for this apart from change for the sake of it? The 4 divisions of 10 left 4 competitive divisions with the majority of teams having something to play for all year be it relegation or promotion. theDagger1986 (Cavan) - Posts: 181 - 08/09/2016 12:38:03 1911773 Link 0 |
Well said. Some clubs didn't complain when they moved up a grade without winning the championship.

Division 4 wasn't competitive as Drumalee won it easily but with the bottom tier next year being division 3 will have a lot of strong teams that got relegated to it this year.

Yes Drumalee won all games in division 4 but still most of them they only won by 3 points. If it's not competitive with 10 teams how will the weaker teams compete with 4 stronger clubs from division ahead. New league structures beggars belief.

we had 3 divisions for a long time in the 90s. increasing division 3 will increase the quality of opposition for weaker teams helping them prepare for championship. Look how well Drumalee did in the championship

As it stands there are far too many senior teams and as a result of this the standard is so bad because teams at this moment in time can play senior if they want even if they are in Intermediate is this not the case. ??? You have three down two up for the next couple of years means that the league might take on a new identity for by your results you stay up or go down this will change things for sure.

If only the County Board had a full time salaried Administrator to take care of ensuring that decisions taken by the board had all of the required paperwork filled in on time and delivered to the appropriate authority be that the Ulster or Central Council. That said responsibility for ensuring that things get done ultimately lies with our County Board Chairman. rahanman (Cavan) - Posts: 127 - 09/09/2016 13:30:52 1912238 Link 0 |

Anyway because of the teams that are in it there was alway's going to be an issue. The Quiet Man (Cavan) - Posts: 4601 - 09/09/2016 17:17:30 1912355 Link 0 |
