Senior qF predictions

Cavan Gaels v Gowna.
gaels win. - gowna may hit form but i still think gaels will have too much

Crosserlough v Lacken
Xlough to win in a tighter game than the bookies suggest

Kingscourt v Killygarry
killygarry to have their chances but kingscourt to edge a tight contest.
would nt rule out a draw here.

Ramor Utd v Mullahoran
ramor win but mullahoran wont make it easy for 40/50 mins at least,
bigger squad and better bench should be enough for ramor

My prediction at the start of the Championship was the Gaels to win the Championship.
The great pretenders in Ramor and Crosserlough failed to live up to their supporters expectations,
indeed it wasnt that long ago that some were predicting that this young Crosserlough team would dominate
Cavan Football for the forseeable future after their last win.

Gaels to win all the way and bring Oliver back up to that glorious trophy cabinet in Terry Coyle park.

Swanlinbar could win their first Senior Championship, but still all to play for, only at Quarter finals.

Replying To PatTheDandy:  "A miserable 5/12 last weekend. It was always going to be difficult with so many dead rubbers, and the c'ship structure is obviously more to blame there than myself.

On the Accumulator. If you are looking for someone to blame, you can thank Ramor & Lavey for their honourable efforts and look no further than Laragh & Gowna to point the finger at. Both clubs need take a long hard look at themselves now after allowing the formbook be thrown out the window like they did last weekend.

On to the Knockout stages where 8 from 8 is both the target and the expectation:

Junior QF's:
Drung v Drumalee - Drumalee by 1
Mountnugent v Drumlane - Drumlane by 7
Munterconnaught v Knockbride - Knockbride by 7
Arva v Shannon Gaels - Arva by 7

Intermediate QF's:
Castlerahan v Bailieborough - Castlerahan by 5
Cuchulainns v Killinkere - Killinkere by 1
Templeport v Cootehill - Templeport by 1
Ballyhaise v Denn - Ballyhaise by 9"
Only 6/8 last week. Not a bad score but still very disappointing as one poster got 7/8 which is the first time in living memory I have been out-predicted on this forum. Sincere congratulations to you on this feat Drumalee11, although you did have Drumlane to win by 1 point rather than 30 points so I would still keep the head down and keep working.

This weeks Senior tips as follows:
Cavan Gaels v Gowna
The Gaels are not as far ahead as results have looked imo, but if Gowna were ever title contenders at all, they are way off the boil this year anyway and the Gaels should win this on the level just below comfortable.
Gaels by 5

Crosserlough v Lacken
Xlough's team on paper is not as good as it should be on the field for the last few years, but I would still make them slight favourites for the c'ship and like the Gaels match should push on in the final quarter with the extra bit of firepower.
Xlough by 5

Kingscourt v Killygarry
I can never predict what Kingscourt are going to do so didn't give this any thought other than to decide on what was the most unexpected result I could think of, which is the much older team to pull through in Extra Time.
Draw Normal Time - Kingscourt by 1 in ET

Ramor Utd v Mullahoran
I would expect Ramor to keep Mullahoran to a very low score here, and score enough themselves to win.
Ramor by 7

With less games I have also picked out a few specials that will more than likely happen this weekend:

Gearoid McKiernan to score a goal? No - 1/1
Paddy Lynch Total Points (inc. Goals) 9 or more - 11/2
Padraig Faulkner Anytime Goalscorer - 9/2
Mullahoran to Score Goal? No - 7/5

I think it will be the 4 favourites this weekend Ramor, Gaels, Killygarry and Crosserlough.

Gaels and Killygarry are good value. Don't think Kingscourt are up to much this year. If Gowna are going to do anything, they will need a big game from Conor Madden which is a big ask for someone who has missed another of football. Lacken's results so far would suggest they are going to be competitive but I am struggling to see it. Ramor will pull away from Mullahoran and win with a bit to spare.
Gaels by 3, Crosserlough by 5, Killygarry by 5, Ramor by 6

I don't think there should be replays at the Quarter final stage. Its ok for a final. Co Board are happy for more money but. if there was a replay in Semi final and FIna,l that would be 10 games to win a championship..

You've had a bit of a mare there, only 1 correct result. Keep trying your best though champ.

Very bad week on the predictions but no one cud have guessed how bad ramor and lacken would be. It looks like crosser loughs championship to lose...

Predictions for next weekend
Senior
Gowna v gaels
gowna found form last weekend and a big improvement from the previous 3 games. After the successful assault on GmAC last week a lot will depend on who will referee the replay next weekend. im sure gowna will use this tactic again.
Cavan gaels to just about have enough to get over the line,
With the late kick off we could be in for a late one should it go to ET

Ramor v Mullahoran
Prediction much like last week.
mullahoran will make it hard but Ramor should just about hav enough.

Intermediate
Ballyhaise v cootehill
Ballyhaise to win by 5

Castlerahan v Cucus
Cucus and evan doughty had free run of brefni last weekend and he wont get it again,
C-rahan had it all their own way v bbor also so neither team has been tested in ko football yet,
i would give cuchullains the edge but another draw would not surprise me in this one

Junior
Drumlane v drumalee
Drumlane to win by 15. hav not seen much of either team but from all reports this should be over after a few mins

Arva v kbride
Arva appear to have the championship wrapped up and have not lost yet,
division 1 status next year also so all signs point to an easy arva win.

can i get odds on 30 players not remainin on the pitch in the gaels v gowna game ?

"all signs point to an easy Arva win"
I'm not sure if I agree with that, the signs I've seen are the teams have drawn already, and Arva only beating Shannon Gaels by 3 points in QF

I'd imagine it'll be long odds on on there not being 30 players on the pitch at the full time whistle, 1/3 or so.

A lot of guff being given about my 1 out of 4 last weekend. Both unfair & ungrateful guff, in my humble opinion, after a summer of great tips provided, if I do say so myself. Not one hat tip for a couple of tasty specials offered up which came in either. Including the in form Gearoid to not score a goal, and also Mullahoran not to score a goal.

I can indeed clarify that I am not on retainer for a bookmaker. I can also clarify that the free at the end of the Kingscourt game should not have been given. That makes it 2 out 4 including an unforeseen draw. A whole different outlook if fair play had to be give.

Moving on to this weekend then, Cavan Gaels & Ramor also need look at themselves having retreated too much into their shells while comfortably ahead and making a bee line for the correct winning margin. Though I expect closer games in the replays than I did before the 1st games, I expect Gaels & Ramor to win this time around.

Junior
Drumlane v Drumalee - Drumlane by 8

Relegation
Killeshandra v Belturbet - Belturbet by 5

Mullahoran to score a goal - No - 7/5
