Lads, reading your posts is sending shivers up and down my spine and the hairs standing on the back of my neck. Eyes welling up. Jumping around the living room with my wife, kids, and my parents on Sunday when Connor buried it. What a feeling. I was there in 97. There was oul lads around me crying that day singing come back Paddy Reilly. I'll never forget it. This is just as good. Words just fail me. Thank you to everyone involved with the team. And not to forget past players. Everyone played their part. At one point during the second half Cavan forced a turnover and my father shouted at the telly "Donegal are f****d!" It was a that point I knew we had them. Absolutely unbelievable scenes.

Just a quick word of genuine congratulations to Cavan and your fantastic win on Sunday. As a Monaghan man it was a reminder of the day in 2013 we finally ended our 25 year famine.Your team played with great energy, belief and never say die attitude.Mixed together with no small deal of skill and some brilliant individual and brave performances, you have been the best team and deserve the result of this.Enjoy the win as these do not come around too often in Ulster .Best of luck in the semi-final and once again I am sure your team will do you proud.

Hi in my post yesterday I mentioned the ref who in my mind was poor that was an assault on Galligan if that happened on the street you would be arrested he could have cost us the game and do me a favour no way were they black cards either 20 minutes with 14 men while Donegall had 16 when you include Cassidy As i mentioned I'm an exile and don't have access to Rte so watched the game on Bbc Ni Peter Canavan Mickey Harte said Cassidy made several wrong calls and they weren't afraid to say what they thought they are not gagged like the pundits on Rte.Has brolly mentioned the Black Death this week don't hear any reports from him. As a previous poster mentioned it's time they brought in the same system they have in rugby I think it's a great idea but maybe might slow the game down to much but they have to do something because as Mickey graham said big teams get the breaks. It has been said before referees from outside Ulster should be in charge of Ulster finals and the likes of Cassidy should not be given the privilege again. Up Cavan.

Agree that the ref was harsh on Cavan and he could indeed have cost you the match.Donegal were favourites. It seems to me that gaa refs always favour the bigger counties.Separately, I was wondering where's Dara McVeety. Is he out injured. He was Cavan's star player a couple of years ago.

Hes away travelling. Canada i think.

Agreed, he'd be a serious addition to the panel.

He's down under. Might or not not be back next year.

Still a few players that would improve the panel if willing to commit, Caoimhin Reilly, Conor Rehill, Patrick Lynch.

Conor Brady was injured this year also. Midfield in Championship last year

But I'm not letting you claim John Joe for Killeshandra. He was a Cornafean man, a red through and through (touchy subject) ;)"
Indeed he was a red as was his legendary brother Big Tom. What a coincidence for his beloved Breffni to win their 40th Ulster title on the anniversary of his death in 52.

He was born in Killeshandra, is buried in Killeshandra and played for Cornafean (like a huge amount of other Killeshandra and Arva men at the time) because you had to play with a senior team if you wanted to play for Cavan. Packie Phair another example. He played with the Reds no doubt and was a legend for them and Cavan but maybe you should stop trying to re-define the club lines as Derries upper and lower is part of Killeshandra - always was and always will be.

I don't agree with a Referee from outside Ulster refereeing an Ulster final for the game is different. As a Cork man I know what it's like to have an Ulster referee in Munster for Hughes cost us dearly in 2015 when he awarded a questionable free to Kerry late in injury time. For me he made a hash of the game stopped it from flowing and was whistle happy.
I watched over and over again to try and see when the incident happened with J Galligan and even now I am struggling to find it. We have the benefit of playback stop slow it down ect the referee has a split second. We could nip and pick at different incidents throughout the game but as I said they normally balance themselves out. As for the two black cards both were spot on check the rule book. Just watch where both tackles were on the person?? I will say Donegal should have got at least one but Cavan scored from the foul the player committed so all good.
Good luck to Cavan next week I hope the management remember you can carry a free taker but you cannot carry a liability. Hold their composure be hungry like they were Sunday and anything can happen. Go out there and enjoy you are there on merit and who knows another great day might be had all going well.
Enjoy the moment many teams around the country would give an arm and a leg to be where you are right now in an All Ireland Simi Final.

why do you hate cavan so much. Watch the match on rte again. The ref got 6 major decisions wrong the 2 black cards possible red card free to reilly no mark to Gearoid and look at the first free awarded to Donegal after half time tell me where the foul is. The last black card which definitely should have cost us the match was reported by Brannigan the down referee who was 3 yards away from the incident to Cassidy as a foul and a push which is a yellow card offence but Cassidy who was 35 yards away and with his back to the incident awarded a black card. he has even come out himself and stated that he got the two black cards wrong.

J Galligan? I for one gave you the benefit of the doubt over the play Gumley comment, believing that perhaps you meant Niall McDermott. James Galligan is not on the panel and I believe that his father Jimmy retired a while ago. The younger brother Thomas isn't bad though. Your arguments about the county team suffer when you can't even name the players involved.

The National League to be played on a shorter format next year. They are making the Leagues regional because of covid, looking like it will be Cavan, Lonhford, Fermangh, Derry in one group in Division 3
