First round was open draw and next round too. The difference this year is no A and B side.

Nope, it's the eight winners from this weekend in one pot and the eight losing semi-finalists in the other. Not an open draw.

A and B is gone though.

Anyways, tonight we did what we had to do as we can only beat what is in front of us. The question I would ask is where have the Cavan supporters gone???"
Thought there was a surprisingly big Cavan crowd at it considering it was a long drive down to the middle of nowhere on a glorious day to play the team who finished 32nd out of 32 in the league.

I was sitting in Aughrim watching that game. God help us when we meet a half decent team. It doesn't really matter who we draw on Monday. Stop making excuses for our opponents. Stop making excuses year on year. What are we waiting for to happen? Bottom line. It's not going to happen for a long time. I wasn't there to watch this Wicklow team. I was only interested in watching my own county team. Don't want to say much more!!!!

Yes.

Round 2 of qualifiers has round 1 winners in one pot and provincial semi final losers in the other. So We cannot draw Tyrone or Mayo but we can draw Monaghan

You said it was an open draw which I took to mean sixteen teams in the one bowl. That isn't the case.

Looks like I was not the only one that thought it was all in and hope for the best in the draw. Let's hope Monaghan only way to find out if we have anything and also Monaghan must be very down after loosing to Fermanagh.

Bowl 1
Kildare
Armagh
Waterford
London/Louth
Mayo
Tyrone
Cavan
Offaly

Bowl 2
Leitrim
Sligo
Clare
Tipperary
Monaghan
Down/Donegal
Longford/Dublin
Carlow/Laois

That's the draw as things stand. Remember, if we draw a division 3 or 4 team from this year's league, we are away, otherwise it's first out of the hat gets home advantage.

If Donegal and Dublin both win (as expected), then I'd fear nobody else in that draw. Not many will fear us either.

Carlow would run us close. Monaghan would beat us comprehensively I believe. I'd imagine Tipp would beat us too, considering we only beat them by a point when they had 14 men. Down would be 50/50.

Cavan have a personnel problem. Our strongest panel is a far cry from what we have in there at the moment. We have problem positions at 11 and 6. Our bench is populated with lads with little championship experience, and indeed some have none whatsoever. A poor state of affairs.

I wouldn't take Longford for granted though Leitrim might be a better bet !

Is Kingscourt going to be our home venue if we got a home game versus Monaghan? Maybe Enniskillen?

Let's draw Monaghan play it in Brewster if Cavan are drawn first as we don't have a pitch and either beat them or try and get quality from the championship for next season. Too many lower division players on our county panel. .

Personally if we are drawn at home and cannot play in breffni I'd like to see Enniskillen as the venue.... Cavan has had alot of success there over the years when you think back to the U21 victories.

well it's a "home" game v Down. we beat them in the league. we will be playing 2 divisions above them next year so on paper we should beat them however , anyone who was at that game in KBP will know that Down could have easily beaten us. they had numerous chances and but for some last ditch defending by us or poor decision making or execution by them , the result could have been different. The teuth is there is little between the teams. Down looked poor yesterday in the first 25 minutes and that was down to poor kickout strategy. the game was over for them before half time and even with extra man Donegal seemed to have so much space. Connaire Harrison and Donal O' Hare are quality forwards and Caolan mooney is also a class act. It could go either way

Home to Down, tricky but could have been worse. I assume no chance it will be in breffni, could kingscourt host it?
