Aidan played on the Oldcastle team during the 1960s and was left full back on the junior championship winning side of 1966. Part of a great Virginia and Cavan GAA family, Aidan's brothers lined out at senior level for the Breffni Blues county. Aidan's nephews, the Galligan brothers powered St. Ultans to the Meath intermediate football championship last October. His son Rory is well known in the car rallying world. Aidan also acted as secretary of the Oldcastle club.
