Much regret followed the passing of Ted Melady of Moyar, Kingscourt on Sunday, February 20th, 2011. Ted played football for Kingscourt Stars in his early years and - as a renowned musician - also played at GAA events nationwide (as well as in Wembley Stadium) as a skilled member of St Mary's Brass and Reed Band.
