James Aidan Farrell, better known to his friends as Aidan, died in March at 90 years of age. He was married to his devoted wife Katie for 70 years. They had seven children, with their youngest son Aogan going on to become President of the GAA. Aidan himself was a great lover of Gaelic games, having brought a van load of 12 supporters to Cavan's last All-Ireland final triumph in 1952. He was a bread sales man for McCaldins Bakery in Monaghan over many years before being appointed the postmaster of Maudabawn Post Office in 1975.
