Bridie Doughty (née Kiernan) of Carn, Ballyjamesduff, who passed away on Thursday, April 6th, 2017, was a member of a highly-respected Cavan GAA family. Bridie worked in Kilnaleck Post Office and also in the family business in Foxfield and managed her brother Philip's filling station on Cavan's Dublin Road. She played camogie for Ballymachugh and was a proud supporter of the club. Her brother, Eugene, is Cavan County Board's Cultural Officer and Breffni Mushrooms - ran by the Kiernan family - is sponsor of Cavan ladies.
