London will be playing their league hurling in the Division 2 next season after seeing off Sligo by 2-20 to 0-18 at McGovern Park, Ruislip this afternoon.

David Devine struck both goals for the Exiles as they secured their place in the Allianz Hurling League Division 3 final with a round still remaining for them in the competition.

Devine’s early goal set the tone for the hosts as they moved into an early five-point lead and he’d add three more points before a brace of scores from Donnacha Leahy saw them carry in a 1-10 to 0-11 advantage at half-time.

Sean Glynn and Devine extended the lead to four early in the restart for Neil Rogers’s side and, while Sligo would close the gap down to two again late on, more points from Leahy and a second Devine goal settled the issue.

The result sees London now set to play their first National League final in a dozen years, while their Yeats counterparts were consigned to a fifth straight league defeat.

Meanwhile, Roscommon picked up their second win of the Division 3 campaign by edging out Cavan on a 1-19 to 0-19 scoreline at King & Moffatt Dr Hyde Park, where Brendan Mulry’s early goal proved the difference for the hosts.
