O'Donnell nominated for RTÉ Sportsperson of the Year

Shane O'Donnell is the only GAA personality among the list of nominees for the prestigious RTÉ Sport Sportsperson of the Year award.

The recently-crowned Hurler of the Year makes the 12-strong shortlist after starring in Clare's All-Ireland SHC and Allianz League successes. He is joined by Paris 2024 gold medallists Rhys McClenaghan, Daniel Wiffen, Kellie Harrington, Paul O'Donovan and Katie-George Dunlevy along with Katie Taylor, Paul Townend, Anthony Cacace, Rhasidat Adeleke, Ciara Mageean and Róisín Ní Ríain.

The awards ceremony will take place next Sunday, December 15 live on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player from 9.30pm. The other awards being presented are the RTÉ Sport Team of the Year, the RTÉ Sport Manager of the Year and the RTÉ Sport Young Sportsperson of the Year.
