The Clare minor hurlers and footballers will be managed in 2025 by two former county goalkeepers.
Clonlara’s Ger O’Connell replaces his namesake Brian O’Connell as minor hurling manager. During the latter’s time in charge, the Banner won only their second-ever All-Ireland MHC title in 2023 and also reached three successive Munster MHC finals, winning one at Cork’s expense last year.
The new minor hurling management also includes Ger Keane (St Senan’s), Alan Clohessy (Liscannor), Cathal O’Connor (Coolmeen) and Fearghal Carroll (Cratloe).
Joe Hayes from Lissycasey is the new minor football boss, taking over from Dermot Coughlan who he had assisted last year. His backroom team includes outgoing coach Damien O’Halloran from Inagh/Kilnamona and Clooney/Quin’s Barry Corbett.
Meanwhile, Clare GAA are selling All-Ireland and National Hurling League champions commemorative jerseys to support their senior hurlers’ holiday fund.
