Arva Footballers Did Us Proud

(Oldest Posts First)

Tomsmith here

It was with great delight that I saw the Blue Arva Jerseys going up the gangway to lift the Cup on Saturday.
Any time that I see bl;ue Jerseys winning cups it great
Cavan County and Cavan Gaels have shown great pride in the Blue Jersey.
But to match agreat game the Arva Captains speech was both composed, dramatic and delivered in an outstanding manner
Well done Arva and I hope you stay together now and give the senior Championship a tilt

Quit clogging the place with stupid unneeded threads. If you're that bored, go wash the sock.

If you were an Arva man you would appreciate that someone of the calibre of Tomsmith would acknowledge this great victory of the Arva men on a national forum like Hoganstand.
This game was a tremendous boost for the Arva club which has struggled for years and lived under the shadow of other bigger clubs,
Perhaps wishfull not thinking of the damage you have done was an error .
I again say Arva well done you done the Blue Jersey proud

Thanks Tom Smith for starting this post.
This All Ireland win by Arva is in my opinion an incredible feat. Beating a fancied kerry side with probably ten times their population on their first ever visit to Croke Park. The way this team performed and worked for each other in a very entertaining game is certainly an example to those in senior ranks. This victory will be talked about in 20 years time. I see no reason why Arva cannot go on now and win Intermediate in Cavan now. There was certainly great support from neighbours in Longford and Leitrim in Croke Park on Sunday. Fair ay I'm absolutely delighted for them..

Tommy, how did it make you feel to see Arva achieve something you could only ever dream of seeing your beloved Cavan Gaels achieving?

And they did it with all their own players, as well.

Hello to all
Tomsmith here

It very easy to sit back and be a Key Board negative Hoganstand poster particularly when posting about the great Arva victory. Any final that you won in Croke Park is well deserved and indeed the manner of Arvas was magnificent .
The victory speech which was delivered in an eloquent, controlled and sensitive manner was akin to John Connollys speech for Galway when the won the Hurling final many years ago.
I say Arva forget about the begrudges enjoy your won and I am so sorry I can not be with you to celebrate, But as the great Mrs T said Tomsmith you were the first to post about it on Hoganstand
