I reckon we could get a few more years out of Martin Reilly this way

I reckon O'Donnell from Shannon Gaels is a great option . Good balls skill and a big strong shot stopper.
Seems to be back with Leitrim though so not sure the viability of it .

Liam Brady first up you'd imagine. Gary O'Rourke from Ballyhaise must still be about too. Then Fergal O'Rourke from Laragh possibly (got rave reviews for kickouts and shot blocking this Championship) is someone I'd like to see but no idea if he's in.

45s not sure on. I'm sure some of these can take them. But are they better than who we have? I know we have some forwards who do take 45s for their club, so might be no harm having them continue to. Some here will love no keeper coming up I reckon...

What's wrong with finding an outfield player that can take 45s …. would that not make more sense…?

No. It makes more sense that you select outfield players on their playing ability and use the the player who's primary role is place kicking of the ball (the keeper) to take 45s as their role is closest aligned to kicking them.

Welcome to the 21st century.

Would their primary role not be defending the goal?

Is this the same century where attendance figures at county football games has plummeted … Only about 3000 at our last home Championship game v Down … an all time low… Your welcome to your 21st century football…!

The average number of saves a keeper makes in intercounty game is, what, 3 or 4?

How many kickouts does he take? Typically more than 20.

Defending the goal involves more than saves.

Fergal O'Rourke is head and shoulders above any goalkeeper in Cavan after Raymond and anyone that things different if deluded. He keeps a small Laragh team in games with his kickouts. Saved a few penalties this year too if I recall.
