I'd agree with most of that. I'd also say that there are a few Ramor backs who played very well and should perhaps be looked at from a county perspective. The forward play from both teams was poor. Spatial awareness should be priortised from a coaching perspective, too often players take the wrong options in the forward line because they're not taking the time to look around before and after receiving the ball. Yes, those last ten minutes when Gowna were a man up. Of course they looked stronger then, as Ramor sat back to protect with a man down. The times it was 15 v 15, Ramor were the better team and outscored Gowna in those periods. Gowna only caught back up with the black cards. The first black was very harsh, the 2nd was correct. If they maintain discipline, and as they have far stronger backs, I still see Ramor winning the replay.

no interest in the final now it will be a very tame affair with lots of yellow cards and a fair few blacks and loads of breaks in play with no continuaity. All physical contact will be over after first ten minutes game is already finished as a spectacle. breffnibluewhite (Cavan) - Posts: 479 - 09/11/2021 16:43:08 2388941 Link 0 |
What makes you say that?

No interest in a final, that is teed up very closely and intriguingly after last Sunday? Are you joking? I can't wait for it, and I'm a neutral...

Gripping game. Ramor rode their luck at times. Gowna much the better team in the second half, 2 stonewall black cards, only one given. How did Pierson not throw it across to Madden for an open goal. I think Ramor will be somewhat concerned with how that second half transpired. 97Cavans (Cavan) - Posts: 378 - 11/11/2021 13:40:13 2389123 Link 2 |

I called Ramor, and delighted they did the job. Always felt they were stronger, and that first quarter was a sight to behold. They crushed Gowna with that. Once they then went 9 up, there was no comeback. Gowna gave it a good rattle after to tighten it, but it was too much. Always thought the Ramor experience would shine through and it did. They learned far more from the drawn game. Gowna will be back though, no doubt. Ramor can also build on this now too. Great two games, and good finish to the year Loughduff Lad (Cavan) - Posts: 2450 - 14/11/2021 16:47:42 2389385 Link 0 |
Gowna seemed to lack a bit of experience and leadership. The continued to only have 1 or 2 men in the forward line despite them badly needing a goal. Oisin Pearson going off was the final blow, he was starting to get into the game. Ado Cole was outstanding in the first half in particular. It'll be interesting to see if ramor bother giving ulster a crack. CavanAgain (Cavan) - Posts: 196 - 14/11/2021 17:31:58 2389398 Link 0 |

Was mentioned on the stage the other night in Virginia. The impression seems to be they will give it a crack. They have time this year to celebrate for the week and knuckle down for Ulster. Talking to a few of the lads, and a few of the older heads round the camp, they seem to think there's another gear in this team which I would agree with. We seen them in full flight for 15 minutes, then it came about game management. Pip87 (Cavan) - Posts: 2 - 16/11/2021 14:45:56 2389660 Link 0 |
There was another gear right enough but I think it must have been reverse….!!!!
