Replying To [email protected]:  "Listened to most of the match on northern sound just to hear how some of our county players performed sounded familiar to the way a lot of Cavan games with chance after chance missed with bad choices bad wides and dropping the ball into the keepers hands not being clinical enough and how we get punished by better teams it's been happening in Cavan for years I do believe that Gowna missed 3 good chances at the end to win it ie county team the same. I'm sure people who were at the game will no doubt put me right on that."
I'd agree with most of that.

I'd also say that there are a few Ramor backs who played very well and should perhaps be looked at from a county perspective. The forward play from both teams was poor. Spatial awareness should be priortised from a coaching perspective, too often players take the wrong options in the forward line because they're not taking the time to look around before and after receiving the ball.

Replying To Cavan_Shambles:  "I agree that with 15 v 15 Ramor had the mesaure of them, but that isn't how the game played out. In the last 10 minutes Gowna had 3 opportunities to kick the winner and missed all 3. In most cases a team in that position would have kicked at least 1, which is all it would have taken. There were big gaps in the Ramor defence due to being a man down and they were clearly hanging on. Gowna will be kicking themselves. Under the circumstances I think Ramor (who I was supporting) will be relieved. I think they'll win the replay."
Yes, those last ten minutes when Gowna were a man up. Of course they looked stronger then, as Ramor sat back to protect with a man down. The times it was 15 v 15, Ramor were the better team and outscored Gowna in those periods. Gowna only caught back up with the black cards. The first black was very harsh, the 2nd was correct. If they maintain discipline, and as they have far stronger backs, I still see Ramor winning the replay.

no interest in the final now it will be a very tame affair with lots of yellow cards and a fair few blacks and loads of breaks in play with no continuaity. All physical contact will be over after first ten minutes game is already finished as a spectacle.

What makes you say that?

No interest in a final, that is teed up very closely and intriguingly after last Sunday? Are you joking? I can't wait for it, and I'm a neutral...

Gripping game. Ramor rode their luck at times. Gowna much the better team in the second half,  2 stonewall black cards, only one given. How did Pierson not throw it across to Madden for an open goal. I think Ramor will be somewhat concerned with how that second half transpired.
Brian Cody always liked to change it up for a replay which I think is a good idea. One change I'd like to see is Brian O'Connell back to midfield. A huge attacking threat running from deep earlier in the championship and could be a game changer for Ramor. I could understand sacrificing him for McKiernan but Ramor have plenty to deal with Madden. I would say Gowna are becoming too predictable, they need to vary their attacks using more width.
Black cards seem to be becoming more of a psychological advantage rather than the actual extra man itself. The opposing team gets a lift while the defending team panic dropping men back and trying to run down the clock. One extra man for ten minutes shouldn't really impact a game too much other than possibly for kickouts but there seems to be an awful panic when a black card is dished out.
I thought the running up to the umpires at the end was hilarious, like something you would see in father Ted but nobody  complaining and no harm done. Great to have the replay.

Congratulations to Ramor.

Seeing as it's not a breakthrough win, is there any chance they'll shift their focus to Kilcoo straight away?

I called Ramor, and delighted they did the job. Always felt they were stronger, and that first quarter was a sight to behold. They crushed Gowna with that. Once they then went 9 up, there was no comeback. Gowna gave it a good rattle after to tighten it, but it was too much. Always thought the Ramor experience would shine through and it did. They learned far more from the drawn game. Gowna will be back though, no doubt. Ramor can also build on this now too. Great two games, and good finish to the year

Gowna seemed to lack a bit of experience and leadership. The continued to only have 1 or 2 men in the forward line despite them badly needing a goal. Oisin Pearson going off was the final blow, he was starting to get into the game. Ado Cole was outstanding in the first half in particular. It'll be interesting to see if ramor bother giving ulster a crack.

Was mentioned on the stage the other night in Virginia. The impression seems to be they will give it a crack. They have time this year to celebrate for the week and knuckle down for Ulster.

Talking to a few of the lads, and a few of the older heads round the camp, they seem to think there's another gear in this team which I would agree with. We seen them in full flight for 15 minutes, then it came about game management.

Gaels knocked out of the under 20 competition.
Their decision to not play U20 or reserve league didn't stand to them
