A star-studded line-up of sporting personalities has been announced for this year’s Hurling for Cancer Research game.
The annual charity fundraiser will take place on Monday, August 12 at 7pm in Netwatch Cullen Park. Among those lining out will be Kilkenny hurling hero TJ Reid, Kerry football captain Paudie Clifford, Grand National-winning jockey Rachael Blackmore, Dublin duo Con O’Callaghan and Ciarán Kilkenny, Wexford camogie great Ursula Jacob and Mayo ladies football legend Cora Staunton.
Founded by horse racing legends Jim Bolger and Davy Russell, the annual charity event has seen Ireland’s biggest stars rub shoulders in a fun, but competitive, match.
Since 2011, Hurling for Cancer Research has raised €1.5 million. This money all goes towards providing hope for cancer patients, by funding groundbreaking cancer research and cancer trials across Ireland.
Tickets can be purchased at www.hurlingforcancer.ie and cost €10 for an individual and €20 for a family ticket, which covers two adults and up to three children under 15.
