Ronan Wallace and Robbie Greville have been appointed as Westmeath senior football and hurling captain respectively for 2025.
In what is a huge honour for his club Multyfarnham, Wallace takes over as football skipper from the retired Kevin Maguire, while Raharney clubman Greville captains a hurling side that also includes his twin brother Gary.
Centre back Wallace has become one of Westmeath’s most important players following last year’s wave of retirements, and was a big loss when he was unable to start last Sunday’s last-gasp Allianz Football League Division 2 defeat to neighbours Meath through injury.
