Clan na Gael are through to their second successive Armagh senior football championship final after seeing off Madden Raparees by 0-14 to 0-12 at the Athletic Grounds this evening.
A superb start saw last year’s runners up racing towards a 0-7 to 0-0 lead after 23 minutes, with sorely needed scores eventually coming at the other end from Madden as they went at the break trailing by 0-9 to 0-4.
The trailers would get their deficit down to four early in the restart ahead of their Lurgan counterparts hitting another purple patch that saw Armagh star Stefan Campbell chipping in with a couple of points.
With 15 minutes to go, the Raparees trailed by 0-13 to 0-5 and while they’d add nine points to their tally before the finish, it’d still leave them two short in the end as the Clans moved towards a final date with either holders Crossmaglen Rangers or Clann Eireann who square off tomorrow at 5pm.
