Crossmaglen were made to come from six points down against Silverbridge last night to earn their place in the last eight of the Armagh senior football championship.
It finished 2-13 to 1-11 at the Box-It Athletic Grounds, where a goal in each half from Aaron O’Neill proved key in the 47-time champions’ victory.
Silverbridge couldn’t have asked for a better start after Mark Rowland’s punched goal seven minutes in would put them on their way towards a 1-4 to 0-1 lead.
The holders hit back with a goal of their own via O’Neill just before half-time to go in trailing 1-5 to 1-4, and they’d be ahead with 10 minutes of the restart thanks to the points of Stephen Morris, Harry Cumiskey and Daniel Cumiskey.
The Harps got it level ahead of Cross’ opening up a two-point lead and then rifling in this superb goal from O’Neill (watch it below) with nine minutes to go to put themselves on the path to victory.
